Bridge Employment ServicesThe Bridge Suite of Support Options
Bridge has always recognised that each client we work with has very different, individual support requirements that need to be met in order to maximise their chances of finding work. A key element of our commitment to being a client led organisation is that we don’t offer a ‘one size fits all’ programme of support but instead offer a range of services and work with our clients to enable them to decide the direction and nature of their own support plan by choosing the type and extent of the support they feel they need. To help them in this choice, we have now developed a Suite of Support Options that clients can mix and match to form a coherent and realistic pathway towards or into work. These options, that are offered at different levels and degrees of service that align with the varied requirements and aspirations of our clients, are outlined in the following table:
Whether you are a potential referring agent or a potential client we would be pleased to talk through and explain the various elements of the Suite of Support with you at anytime either face to face or over the phone – just give us a ring on (0114) 2795055. If you prefer you can attend our Drop In service.
Drop-In Bridge Employment run a Drop-In service every Wednesday from 1.30pm to 4.30pm, at the Zest Centre where we are based (formally the Upperthorpe Healthy Living Centre). The Drop-In is for people who are interested in finding out more about the Bridge Employment service, they will be able to come in without having an appointment and meet some Employment Workers. At the Drop-In sessions the following services can be offered:
There will be no pre-booking system, but there may be a short wait. Please let the Zest Centre know you are here for the Bridge Drop-In service. Reasonable AdjustmentsThe Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), requires employers to make ‘reasonable adjustments’ to jobs to make them accessible to people with disabilities. Bridge Employment can help applicants work out what reasonable adjustments they might need to make a job work for them. We can then help negotiate these with employers. This helps applicants and it also helps educate employers about disability and mental health issues. Benefit AdviceOur employment workers are well informed about benefits and moving into work. Our employment workers will talk through benefit issues with the applicant and make sure they are fully informed before the applicant makes a decision to start work.
